Players have the option become a "Junior S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent", or in other words, a monthly subscriber. The monthly subscription gives players free currency to spend in the Shop and gives access to certain special heroes such as Black Widow, Symbiote Spider-Man, and even Nick Fury, to name just a few.
